Operation WarriorFit (OWF) is seeking a volunteer Web Designer & Developer to design, develop, and launch a feature-rich website that allows users to interact with our mission, register for races, and engage with our community. The site must support 50,000+ monthly users, integrate with ID.me for verification, and include an interactive dashboard where users can track races, training, and engagement.
OWF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders through fitness and endurance events. We provide free or significantly discounted race entries to help participants stay active, rebuild camaraderie, and improve their mental well-being.
✅ Design and develop a scalable, high-traffic website that supports 50,000+ monthly users.
✅ Ensure seamless user experience (UX/UI) for race sign-ups, profile management, and community engagement.
✅ Integrate ID.me for verification, ensuring only eligible participants access OWF benefits.
✅ Develop a dashboard system where users can:
✅ Create an easy-to-use portal for race directors, allowing them to donate and upload race entries, which automatically populate on the site.
✅ Optimize website speed, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness.
✅ Develop a donations and sponsorship page with secure payment processing (Stripe, PayPal, etc.).
✅ Ensure SEO best practices to maximize engagement and visibility.
✅ Plan for future scalability, including community forums, leaderboards, and social features.
🔹 Experience in web design & development (WordPress, Webflow, React, or other modern frameworks).
🔹 Ability to build a high-performance, scalable site that can handle high traffic loads.
🔹 Proficiency in integrating third-party APIs (e.g., ID.me, Stripe, PayPal, Google Maps, etc.).
🔹 Experience in UI/UX design – Creating an intuitive, engaging interface.
🔹 Knowledge of security best practices to protect user data and prevent fraud.
🔹 Understanding of cloud hosting solutions (AWS, Google Cloud, or similar).

🔹 Strong problem-solving skills & ability to work independently while collaborating with the team.
